DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson has requested information from DC Public Schools Chancellor Antwan Wilson, following the WAMU news report regarding last year’s class at Ballou High School.
As an article in yesterday’s Washington Post wrote – the attempted sting operation on the newspaper – was quite bizarre, although it had apparently been planned for months. Bizarre enough that we decided to explore ourselves. We pulled the tax records for the 501c3 organization as well as its 501c4 affiliate, the Project Veritas Action Fund, and went to the public records to investigate.
When asked how the DC City Council prepared to handle those who are accused of sexual harassment, he responded “Breaking News! So, we’re looking at sensitivity training and sexual harassment training for all employees at the council.” The District NOW is the first to report this update according to Chairman Mendelson.

Launched in the Spring of 2015 by Mayor Muriel Bowser, the FitDC initiative is hosting two free fitness events this Friday. These events are led by the DC Department of Health (DOH) and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR).
Under the “Green Building Residential Metering Amendment Act of 2017”, developers will be required to install individual utility meters in newly constructed residential buildings. This will allow local utility providers to measure each individual unit’s utility consumption and equitably distribute costs, as residents will only pay for the resources they use.
UMC hospital is very important to me because it is a crucial resource for our neighbors east of the river. Veritas was being paid a lot of money to improve the hospital and our city has very little to show for it. I would have voted to cancel their contract, and I'm glad that's the decision the majority of DC Council reached.
